When installing my wireless router, should the router install program ask me for my ISP login email + password

put that installation CD in the waste basket. i've never used an installation CD to setup a wireless router. all can be done directly via a wired connection to the router.

open a browser window and enter the address of the router, i.e. for linksys routers 192.168.1.1 and for d-link routers 192.168.0.1

mine didn't
Reply:I've installed scores and scores of wireless routers for clients. Never once has one asked me for an ISP e-mail and password.
Reply:If you're using a DSL that connects by PPPoE or any other connection type that uses PPP authentication through a radius server then yes, but if you're using a dhcp connection like cable then no.
Reply:Yea.
Reply:i think it can be done in windows wireless networking
Reply:yes it will ask this as it needs to make sure it is using the right account.
