No doubt Yahoo are working on the problem but they have not deigned to let us know what is going on and when it will be fixed

This man explain over and over to yahoo uk for the same issue for 9 times over 2 months and all he's getting is the same rubbish answer, cut and paste job by robot and they have no intension to solve any problem, the weird things is those robot were getting paid and do notting and get away from it.

Reply:Well, due to the fact that several web communities such as Second Life and Myspace have been down today I'm guessing that it may be caused by the same massive power failure in LA.





Fortunately Myspace is back up and running now and at least they had the decency to tell us what was going on.





The only ones that seem affected are ".co.uk" addresses though, so I don't know why that is. Perhaps it is operated from US and they don't give a flying monkey's testicle what is happening to us Limeys.

Reply:Mine still not working and now it seems to have been the case for the past 18 hours in the UK. I am desperate to get some of the mails and am staying up trying every 5 mins to get on since about 10pm. Now it's getting beyond a joke at 2am.
Reply:Frankly I find it inexcusable that Yahoo STILL doesn't have the decency/expertise to put a simple system status message somewhere, so that a forum such as this continues to be overwhelmed with people asking the same exact questions over and over again, or spending hours messing around with their own computers believing that they have an internal problem.





Power outages are NO EXCUSE. Look at the main Yahoo pages. If they can have up-to-date news items, they can have a simple sentence somewhere alerting customers that something is going on (upgrade, downtime, outage, whatever.)

Reply:Power outages in the US, crashed servers ... but no message on the Yahoo Homepage to apologise to us poor punters for the technical problems ... after all why should we need to know what's going on, we're only the ones who USE their email service!





Seriously, the system appears to be gradually getting back into gear, but here in the dear old .com.uk-land it's refusing to co-operate until after breakfast and an extra coffee break (with doughnuts) and then maybe we'll all get to be able to use out emails again!!!

Ive not had this problem before in years but yes its bad they have no messages to say its down. msn do let you know theres a problem so perhaps yahoo could do more for us in keeping us updated on thier homepage or having a link for news on tech problems somewhere as i didnt know this place existed and found it by accident on a search engine.
Reply:All Yahoo services should now be restored. The building which hosts the Yahoo European Operations Data Centre lost all commercial power at 13:40 yesterday afternoon. Power was restored to each section of the building over a 1 hour period between approximately 7-8pm. The guys that work in the Yahoo suite have told me that the power outage caused huge technical problems and they only recently brought all services back online. There was also a brief power outage on Friday, although I'm not sure to what extent or duration this affected their operations. How do I know this you ask? I work in the same building and have had to suffer the same problems!
